We’re so glad you found us!
Physiotherapy is a highly effective treatment for many conditions, but its success depends on several factors, including your specific condition, commitment to the treatment plan, and overall health. Here’s what to consider:
Who Can Benefit from Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy can help if you’re experiencing:
Pain or Stiffness – Whether it’s from an injury, arthritis, or post-surgery recovery, physiotherapy can reduce pain and improve mobility.
Sports or Workplace Injuries – Helps restore strength, flexibility, and function after an injury.
Post-Surgical Recovery – Aids in faster recovery after surgeries like knee replacements or rotator cuff repairs.
Neurological Conditions – Beneficial for conditions like stroke, Parkinson’s disease, or multiple sclerosis.
Chronic Conditions – Supports management of long-term conditions like back pain, sciatica, or fibromyalgia.
What Determines Success?
Your Condition: Some issues respond quickly to treatment, while others may require ongoing care.
Consistency: Following prescribed exercises and attending scheduled sessions enhances results.
Lifestyle Factors: A healthy lifestyle, including good posture and regular movement, can speed up recovery.

A detailed discussion of your medical history and current concerns

Preparing for Your Visit
To ensure a smooth and effective assessment, please take the following steps before your visit:
1. Fill out our Online Intake Form
A compete intake and consent form is essential in helping your Physiotherpist prepare for your visit. Please take a few minutes on your phone, tablet or computer to complete it.
2. Bring Relevant Medical Information
If you have any medical records, imaging reports (X-rays, MRIs), or a referral from your doctor, bring them to your appointment. This helps your physiotherapist better understand your condition.
3. Make a List of Symptoms and Questions
Before your visit, note any specific symptoms, pain levels, or movement restrictions you’ve been experiencing. Also, prepare any questions you may have about treatment options and recovery expectations.
4. Wear/Pack Comfortable Clothing
Dress in loose, comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement. Depending on the area being assessed, you may need to wear shorts (for lower body issues) or a tank top or sports bra (for shoulder, neck or back concerns).
5. Arrive a Few Minutes Early
Give yourself extra time to complete any necessary paperwork and settle in before your session begins.

It's right for you if you have pain or aching in your muscles and/or joints that is dull or sharp. If you feel limited in your everyday movement in a way that prevents you from engaging fully in your life, it's a good idea to get that looked at!

Yes, we accept most major medical insurance companies. We can direct billing to all insurance companies listed on the Telus eClaims portal and few lesser known portals that we are a listed provider for. The best way to get a definite answer about your specific insurance company is to call us at (647) 792-7689 or send us an email to: info@parklawnphysio.ca

No, you have direct access to your local physiotherapist without a prescription. The only time you may need one is if your insurance policy requires one in order to file a claim for reimbursement. The best course of action is to call your insurance company to inquire into the requirements of your policy before your visit.

It's good to wear clothes you can move easily in. Shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, sports bras make it easier for your clinician to see parts of your body and muscles clearly and place electrical stimulation, cups and heat on your body for the best therapeutic impact.

We all have different signs and symptoms of stress. Our care focuses more on the cause of stress, how to integrate the tension in your body — as opposed to the expression of stress (symptoms). More often than not, people feel wonderful when they leave our office.
